Tips to facilitate your searches

Please note that the computer recognizes exact matches according to your search. Thus, sometimes “less is more” in your search as entering in many fields may result in failure to retrieve all recorded information. Keep in mind, limiting search fields or entering partial names my improve search results.  Recording standards have changed throughout the years so following some of the searching tips will aid in your searches.

• Search by last name, first initial – Example: Smith  J (particularly important for
     earlier recordings)
• Search by all possible spellings – Example: Truman K or Trueman K or Trumann K
• Search by any and all parties who may be listed on the document
• Refrain from using abbreviations – Example: OKC vs. Oklahoma City
• Refrain from using punctuations or symbols in your search
• When searching by Grantor/Grantee, search by both spouses as only one may have been
     indexed – Example: Smith John etux
• Take advantage of the drop-down document type list. If you know the document type, narrow the search by selecting that document type, otherwise, the computer will bring back all document types fitting your search criteria.
• Federal Tax Lien searches 1991 to current should be accessed in the UCC search.
• Due to the sensitivity of social security numbers, the images of the Tax Liens will not be available on this website.
